Several reports on the internet claim that the actor Robert Pattinson has been chosen to be the one to give life to the legendary hero Batman in his next film appearance.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 32-year-old Briton has not signed a contract and it is unknown if he has received a formal offer, but many say it is director Matt Reeves’ favorite to wear the mask and cape.
Other actors who could take the role in case Pattinson is not chosen are Nicholas Hoult, Armie Hammer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Reeves, who was in charge of the recent trilogy of “Planet of the Apes,” agreed to direct “The Batman” after Ben Affleck withdrew from the project as an actor and director.
The departure of Affleck, the last to give life to the “bat man” in film, allowed the story to be changed to be based on a younger Batman / Bruce Wayne. “The Batman”, produced by the Warner Bros. studio and based on the iconic DC Comics character, will hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
Pattinson rose to fame with a small role in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, after which he achieved global popularity as Edward Cullen in the vampiric saga “Twilight” (“Twilight”).
In recent years he has opted to star in art and independent films, such as “Good Time”, “Cosmopolis” and “High Life”. He will also be in charge of the new project of the filmmaker Christopher Nolan, who directed three Batman films.
