Tony-nominated Broadway actor Nick Cordero is hospitalized in the intensive care unit and his family fears he’s battling coronavirus.

The “Waitress” star’s wife said Cordero was diagnosed with pneumonia.

“Unfortunately we think he was misdiagnosed and we are waiting to hear if this is in fact COVID,” Amanda Kloots wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday. “He is scared, in the ICU and now unconscious so his body can get enough oxygen.”

Kloots, who is also a Broadway actor, said she’s not permitted to visit her 41-year-old husband. She described Cordero’s condition as having gone “from bad to worse.”

“He isn’t allowed to eat or drink, he is very weak and having a hard time breathing,” Kloots wrote.

Kloots and Cordero welcomed their first child, a son named Elvis, last summer. In her post, Kloots said the rest of the family is feeling healthy.

Cordero’s lengthy list of Broadway credits include Earl in “Waitress,” Sonny in “A Bronx Tale” and Cheech in “Bullets over Broadway.” He received a Tony nomination for his portrayal of Cheech.

“We are all trying to stay positive and strong knowing that he is in the best care,” Kloots wrote in the Instagram post. “I miss him terribly.”
