Attention Donna Summer fans: You are going to love this

We could all use a reason to smile right about now.

And we’ve definitely found one thanks to the glorious new remix of Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” from hitmaking producer/DJ Kygo.

Sure, the euphoria may only last as long as the song — which is three minutes and change. But, hey, we’ll take it — especially this year.

Summer was at the height of her power when she first recorded this rocking dance track for “Bad Girls,” the singer’s chart-topping seventh studio album. “Hot Stuff” zoomed to No. 1 on the pop charts, went on to win the very first Grammy Award given out for best female rock vocal performance, and, roughly a quarter century later, was ranked No. 104 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list.

The original version was produced by Summer’s longtime collaborators, Pete Bellotte and Giorgio Moroder, and still sounds so powerful 40-plus years after it was recorded. But we also love this new version by Kygo, who favors the dancefloor groove over the rock edge in this remix.

“Donna Summer is one of my favorite artists of all time,” Kygo says. “Her catalog of music is brilliant and her vocals are unmatched. I am honored and humbled to get to work on an iconic track like ‘Hot Stuff.’

“This has always been one of those songs that instantly puts me in a good mood and I hope that this version can continue to bring joy and happiness to people who want to celebrate the legendary Donna Summer.”

You can stream/download Kygo’s “Hot Stuff” remix through all the usual channels as well as watch the accompanying Bo Webb-directed video — starring Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline (aka, John B and Sarah Cameron from Netflix’s “Outer Banks”) — on YouTube.

And after grooving to “Hot Stuff,” stick around to check out Kygo’s acclaimed recent remix Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” as well.

Who knows? It could result in another smile or two.
