‘SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE’

Rated PG for sequences of animated action violence, some language and thematic elements.

What it’s about: Spider-Man Miles Morales learns to write his own story as he contends with the legions and lore of Spider-People across the multiverse.

The kid attractor factor: It’s Spider-Man! The characters and animation will be a draw for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: It’s OK to reject what’s been written for you and write your own story. Parenting is hard and so is growing up and learning to be your own person.

Violence: Some animated violence and sequences of peril and fighting. Some dark/mature imagery and elements as well.

Language: Some strong language.

Sex: None

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: A truly magical visual spectacle that kids and young people will love. There are some dark moments and images of danger that may be a bit much for the littlest kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Make emotional room for the many different kinds of connections we have throughout our lifetimes — it can be not just rewarding but healing.

Violence: None

Language: Some strong language and swearing.

Sex: References to sex.

Drugs: Drinking

Parents’ advisory: This doesn’t have much appeal for kids but the material is fine for older kids and teens.
